First, let’s be clear: this is in the affordable sunglassss range, right above the cheap imitation 80s Ray Bans.In that context, these glasses are really impressive. At $15, this is a solid deal for the consumer IF you like:?light weight metal frames; they don’t feel cheap, and it took longer than I want to admit to find the word solid, but there it is. They feel properly assembled, as if someone gave them a jiggle and set them in place before they went out.?minimal yet effective packaging. No waste, no extra space, no unnecessary stuff. The thoughtfulness demonstrated here was serious and thorough: each earpiece wrapped in thin foam; main piece and lenses, wrapped; wrapping easily removed, also.?included keyring with screwdriver for glasses. Very solid feeling and capped to protect the driver, great touch.?nice bag?everything very clean?solid nose-piece?good distance for eye-to-lenseCaveats:1) Just got them, I don’t know what their durability will be like, but they certainly feel well built.2) The earpiece frames squeeze ligtly but firmly; I never can tell if that will give me a headache over time, but the fit right now is very comfortable. The lenses are a little bigger than I’d personally prefer, but everything else about these glasses is just so properly done that my urge to nitpick is happy to step aside.Quality? Matters. And these people are doing it very right in a favorable price range. I’d be happiest if they try to keep the price under $20, since they have a very respectable product here that should dominate in this price range. If they offer darker and/or colored lenses, I might never buy another brand (presuming comfort and durability hold up), and I’m kinda picky.
My everyday glasses are a pair of Maui Jim Island Time’s and I can’t rave enough about them, perfect clarity. I needed a pair of light weight glasses for cycling vs the glass lens Island Time pair so I bought the Banyans and loved the style and weight. I was expecting the same performance as my other pair of Maui Jim’s but that was cut short big time in glare, esp looking through a windshield of a vehicle I found myself trying to look around the glare and even squinting at times. I bought these from Sunglass hut so they should have been authentic Maui Jims but they definitely fell short of expectations. The Maui Jim Island time glasses do have glass lenses vs the plastic in the Banyans if that may play a roll I don’t know but these were returned and I’m now in search again for the perfect cycling glasses.
Love these shades. They’re super in right now and these are just as good if not better than the ones for much more at various sites. Come with a little case and cleansing cloth.
Very nice sun glasses. Nice case and other items.
Amazing value and stylish at the price point. I’ve spent more money and been a lot less satisfied with other brands. I’ve only had these a day and I already love them. And it looks like they’re made in the good old’ USA which I think is important.id rather buy a product made here if I can help it. Woodies seem to be made extremely well so I’m proud to own them..plus they come with a nice case, cleaning cloth, guitar pick, and wristband. The only thing I need is a corona.
At the time I bought these, the description mistakenly said polarized. So I was disappointed when I found out these weren’t.That said, I like their UV protection and their lightweight design. They fit well on my average-to-large-sized male head. The rubberized prongs (?) don’t slip easily, so I feel mostly (but not entirely) comfortable wearing these while playing sports. Also, I have high cheekbones, so I went with the XLJ model and I’m happy with how the lens meets my face without a big gap or digging into my skin.Lastly, the cost is quite high, but since I’m reviewing on quality, not cost, I won’t hold it against these pairs.
